My Parents
“I deeply memorise them (Father a master craftsperson of KANSA PLATE while Maa [Late Champa Devi] a skilled hand engraver on metalware) whose inspiration could make me an avid collector of ancient dying metal crafts and now shaped 8,000 rare artefacts in a museum. My mission conservation of heritage metal crafts and revival thereof turned me to an Art Historian and Museologist.”
Sri Sudarshan Sahoo

Late Gopinath Sahoo
A celebrated master craftsperson belonging to the traditional Kansari (artisan) community of Kantilo along the Mahanadi river. His lifelong mastery over hammering, forging, and shaping traditional kansa plates and bell metal utensils inspired the founding of this institution, named in his eternal honor: Gopinath Heritage Museum / GNMC.
Late Champa Devi
A gifted and skilled artisan, revered mother Late Champa Devi practiced intricate hand engraving on traditional metalware. Her delicate aesthetic touch and devotion to the decorative soul of Odia metal crafts instilled the deep reverence for craftsmanship and preservation that defines Sri Sudarshan Sahoo's curatorial journey.
