Critical Legal Notice
Under Indian Law and curatorial governance, genuine antiques are historic items manufactured before 1860 (or in existence for over a century). The export of all pre-1860 antiquities is strictly regulated and non-transferable outside India under the Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972.
1. Non-Exportable Artefacts
All items in the GNMC collection classified as registered antiques or dating prior to 1860 are strictly NOT exportable outside the territorial borders of India. These items can only be acquired by Indian residents or domestic institutions for conservation and display within India.
2. ASI Registration
Every antiquity in our collection is registered with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Ownership transfers are reported to the local Registering Officer as per mandatory legal requirements.
3. Exportable Crafts (Replicas & Contemporary)
Modern metal crafts, replicas of ancient masterpieces produced within the last 75 years, and non-antiquated items are eligible for international shipping. These items will be accompanied by a "Non-Antiquity Certificate" issued by the ASI-empaneled expert committee.
4. Shipping Responsibility
For exportable items, GNMC facilitates the application for export licenses. However, the final approval is subject to the decision of the Director General of the ASI. This process typically takes 4–12 weeks.
