Century-Old Architectural Square-Pyramidal Brass Kerosene Lamp (Dibi)

Rare early 20th-century architectural square-body brass kerosene lamp with faceted pyramidal roof, curved wick snuffer spout, and finger loop (Length 4 inches / 10 cm, Height 3.5 inches / 8.9 cm)
Century-old authentic traditional geometric square-design kerosene oil lamp, known in Odisha folk craft as "Chaukona Dibi" (or Chaturbhuja Dibia), crafted circa early 20th century. Cast in heavy solid brass metal featuring a distinctive architectural truncated square pyramidal silhouette. The lower reservoir presents four upright planar square walls with subtly chamfered corners, rising through four angled pyramidal roof facets toward a central cylindrical burner neck collar. The neck is fitted with a fitted burner cap supporting a diagonal downward-sloping curved wick snuffer tube/arm and central wick nozzle aperture. Fitted with an integral curved loop finger handle brazed to one facet wall for safe domestic transport. Rests stably upon a solid, flat square base designed for placement in compact prayer alcoves, study benches, or ledger desks. Preserved in remarkable antique condition with natural aged dark olive-bronze patination and authentic historic surface wear. Dimensions: Length 4 inches (10 cm); height 3.5 inches (8.9 cm). A charming, exceedingly rare, and extinct regional folk lighting antiquity.
